Church Staff

Music Director and Organist: Linda Maguire grew up in Virginia and returned home in 2005 after many years abroad. She attended and obtained degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Toronto. She continues to teach, sing professionally, and play organ/keyboard in the Northern Virginia area in addition to her work at Emmanuel. Linda is a long-time member of the Episcopal church and is happy to be a part of the Emmanuel parish family. Director of Christian Education: Claire Haymes is native of the United Kingdom, Claire has lived in Germany, US, Greece and Thailand, always worshipping and actively participating in Anglican and Episcopal churches in each of those countries. She has been a lay volunteer in numerous roles over the years – student Christian leader; reader, chalice and prayers; church planting team; Sunday school teacher – and has most recently become intrigued by the opportunities the new social media offer to broaden a local church’s reach and community. A professional freelance translator and interpreter, Claire has an innate need to facilitate communication and celebrate the benefits of people coming together.
