Retreat at Shrine Mont

The annual church retreat is at Shrine Mont, which is nestled among the trees in the Shenandoah Mountains in Orkney Springs, Virginia. Shrine Mont is a retreat and camp center owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. Tucked away beyond the seemingly forgotten little village of Orkney Springs. Shrine Mont is a place where friends, fellowship, prayer and reflection, rest and recreation, are more important than meetings and schedules. It's a place where people may appreciate and enjoy creation - from the beauty of streams, flowers, and wildlife which are at home there, to their fellow parishioners. There is a lot of free time to hike, play golf or tennis, read a good book, play games, talk with friends, or just rock on the porch.

Children in particular enjoy salamander catching, fossil hunting and running in the fresh open air and grass. Everyone enjoys the quaint guest houses, scrumptious homestyle cooking, the bonfires and s'mores, songs, worship, and more. Come join us at our next retreat at Shrine Mont in the spring.

Shrine Mont is a conference center of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia located in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains, 13 miles west of Mt. Jackson at the foot of the great North Mountain. Here the Diocese owns 1,100 acres of forest land featuring trails, lakes, hills, and streams at the edge of the George Washington National Forest.
