Carpenter's Shelter

Opportunity to Serve

Imagine working full time and still being forced to choose between feeding your children and paying the rent.  The cost of living in Alexandria is such that employment does not mean stability for many families.  Emmanuel Episcopal Church (EEC) parishioners shop for, cook, and serve dinners to the residents of Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria.  The shelter provides safe housing, job-seeking assistance, and--of course--family meals.  EEC is responsible for cooking and serving meals for the residents of Carpenter’s shelter on the first Wednesday of every month.  We are also exploring ways of expanding our meal service to serve more dinners per month.  If you and yours are interested, please click here to learn more
