Children are Welcome

There are many options for families with children during service at Emmanuel.

During Service. Children, including infants, are always welcome to stay in the pew with their parents during the church service and take part in the communion or receive a blessing. Worship bags are available at the back of the church for children and youth to take to the pew – encourage them to use and explore the contents as they listen to the service, then place it all back in the bag and return the bag on the stand ready for the next week. Be sure to take your doodles and masterpieces home with you!

Rocking chairs are at the back of the church if a baby needs a little comforting.

Nursery Care. Emmanuel provides nursery care for infants to 4 year-olds every Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Emmanuel has a fully-equipped nursery with a regular caregiver staff. For more information, see nursery.

Sunday School. Emmanuel provides Sunday School for children from pre-kindergarten through 5th grade from mid-September to mid-May from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Small children should be potty-trained.) During the church service, children are escorted back into the church to rejoin their parents in time for communion or a blessing. For more information, see children's spiritual formation.

Children's Choir. Children who are members of the childrens' choir sing once a month during Youth Sunday and practice after the 10:30 a.m. service.
