We Are All One Body

Emmanuel is a welcoming community, where the dignity of every human being is respected. Inclusivity is important to us, and we strive to ensure that every child of God is seen and loved.

  • The ground and first levels of our building are wheelchair accessible, and an elevator is available from our worship level to the parish hall.

  • Magnifying Lenses, ear plugs, and surgical masks are always available.

  • A Sensory Basket can be found in the narthex, containing noise cancelling headphones, a picture schedule for Holy Eucharist, as well as a plethora of sensory items.

  • A Quiet Space is available containing a couch, dim lighting, a rocking chair, and yoga balls.

  • Sensory and soft cushions are available in the back of the worship space.

  • For families of young children,  our Children’s Corner is  located in the corner of the narthex, which contains items that your child might need throughout the service including worship bags, laminated children’s worship schedules, books, and coloring sheets.

  • Nursery service is available for children up to 4 years of age everyfrom 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Please see an usher for directions to the nursery (the nursery is closed July, August, and occasional church holidays).

  • A Soft Space is located in the back of our worship space  for our youngest worshippers, aged newborn – 4 years. This space contains books, coloring materials, a rocking chair, and age appropriate toys.

While our efforts are not exhaustive, ensuring that every person receives the support and resources they need to fully worship, learn, grow, and serve within the Emmanuel community is our priority. If you require an accommodation not listed above, please contact our Associate Rector; she will work with you directly to ensure that you (or your loved one) has everything they need to live fully into life at Emmanuel.

Sacramental Rites of Passage

Sacramental rites of passage; baptisms, weddings, and funerals, are celebrated in the Episcopal tradition. To learn more about customs, practices, and scheduling, please contact a member of the clergy or click on the links below.

Baptism, by water and the Spirit, symbolizes full inclusion in the community of Christ.

Marriage celebrates the loving, lifelong, and faithful union of two persons.

Rite of Confirmation, Reception & Reaffirmation celebrates the renewal of baptismal vows in the presence of a Bishop.

Rite of Christian Burial honors the memory of the lost, the grief of those left behind, and the promise of life anew in God’s kingdom.
