Iona Pilgrimage Interest Meeting

In March 2026, Rev. Jen participated in a pilgrimage to Iona - a small island off the coast of Mull in Scotland - with ten community members from Virginia Theological Seminary. While there, Rev. Jen learned about the history of the island and Iona Abbey, worshipped within the Iona Community, and worked to prepare the abbey for the upcoming tourist season. Throughout the summer months, Iona Abbey offers programming in the form of themed weeks, and “Time and Space” weeks in which there is no abbey-organized programming. In 2027, Rev. Jen is considering leading an EEC pilgrimage to the breathtaking, thin space of Iona, and is putting out feelers as to potential participation levels and programming interests.
