A group of ten joined the Emmanuel Episcopal team to walk in the October 18 StepALIVE fundraising walkathon in support of ALIVE!'s many ministries in our community.  It was a gorgeous fall day!  Several hundred participants enjoyed hearing the Mayor and the Town Cryer before we set off on an easy 2.5 km loop through Del Ray and environs, passing many ALIVE! member congregations including Emmanuel. After the walk, there were raffle prizes and frozen treats from Goodies in Old Town.   Together our team raised $750, and the Vestry approved a $250 sponsorship donation from Emmanuel, bringing our contribution to $1000 toward the $145,000 goal (which was exceeded!).  Thanks to all who helped out: walkers Joe and Kelly Dresen, Marianne Bambara, Barbie Frank, Pat Hadley, Nancy Dupree, Doris Rudolf, and Greg, Torrence, and Vonda Delawie, and others who contributed money to our team!
