On Sunday, September 20, Emmanuel held an internal volunteer fair in the parish hall after the 10:00 am service. “Internal” here means volunteer opportunities within the parish. Rev. Chuck, Rev. Jen and the church community felt it was important to host this fair to get more active participation within the church.  There were booths set up to sign up for many opportunities including Stream Team, Usher, Spiritual Adult Formation Committee, and Breaking Bread. Alongside these booths parishioners considered options with snacks and coffee provided by that Sunday’s coffee hour host. Approximately 22% of our adult parishioners offer their talents and time to volunteer at Emmanuel. Nine parishioners signed up for their first engagement at the fair. “The volunteers are the body and the blood; without volunteers nothing can get done.” commented Heidi Bogacz. We hope to see everyone at our external volunteer fair October 18, where we will highlight service opportunities that Emmanuel supports outside our doors.
