Founded in 1968, Emmanuel Preschool (EPS) offers an enriching, developmentally-appropriate, play-based education for preschool-age children. We strive to prepare children to be confident learners who can transition smoothly to future settings by providing a rich and well-rounded educational environment in which children are met at their individual developmental level. In all that we do, we seek to build a strong community where children, families and faculty feel supported, inspired and valued.

EPS Program At-A-Glance

2022-2023 School Year: We operate a play-based preschool program, September 12, 2022-June 9, 2023.

2023-2024 School Year: We operate a play-based preschool program, September 11, 2023-June 14, 2024.

Day Programs: We offer a two-day program for 2-year-olds, a three-day program for 3-year-olds, and a 5-day program for 4 & 5-year-olds.

School hours: 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for all classes.

Meals: Children bring a lunch and snack from home each day.

At Emmanuel Preschool (EPS), we believe that children learn best through play and their relationships and interactions with peers and caring adults. We strive to:

Foster children’s cognitive development and social/emotional growth

Encourage children to practice social skills, including taking turns; sharing; respecting oneself, others and the environment

Provide opportunities for children to develop independence and to practice problem-solving and decision-making skills

Cultivate children’s self-expression through imagination, creativity and language

Use a play-based curriculum to teach literacy, math, science, art, music and communication skills in a way that piques children’s interest and curiosity

Provide opportunities for physical activity to foster both gross and fine motor development and build small and large muscle skills through varied forms of play

Age Group Eligibility

Emmanuel Preschool follows the Virginia law on age group requirements. Age eligibility for the 2023-2024 school year is as follows:

2s Classes: Children born between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021
3s Classes: Children born between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020
4/5s Classes: Children born between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019

New Student Applications

We are accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year!

We love giving tours of our school and encourage all parents to have a tour of the school before filling out an application. If you would like to schedule a tour, please email Nicole Crochet at director@epsonhigh.org.

A non-refundable application fee of $75 (max $100 per family) via check is due with the application. Please make checks payable to "Emmanuel Preschool" and include your child(ren)'s name(s) on the memo line.
Checks may be brought to the school during school hours or dropped off during non-school hours at the EPS drop box located on the Mason Street side of the building. This application fee must be received by EPS within three (3) days of filling out an online application for the student's application to be considered as complete.

2023-2024 Tuition Information

ANNUAL TUITION: The annual tuition amounts for the 2023-24 school year are as follows:

2-Day Program for 2s: $3,915

3-Day Program for 3s: $5,375

5-Day Program for 4/5s: $7,150

DEPOSIT: The following non-refundable deposit amounts include 1/2 month tuition and a one-time supply fee:

2-Day Program for 2s: $380 (includes supply fee of $175)

3-Day Program for 3s: $510 (includes supply fee of $225)

5-Day Program for 4/5s: $655 (includes supply fee of $275)

INITIAL PAYMENT: A non-refundable payment of 2 months tuition is due by June 30, 2023:

2-Day Program for 2s: $824

3-Day Program for 3s: $1,130

5-Day Program for 4/5s: $1,505

ONGOING TUITION PAYMENTS: After the initial payment, families will have the opportunity to select from the following payment options:

Annual Payment: due September 2023

Semi-Annual Payments: due September 2023 and February 2024

Nine Monthly Payments: due September 2023 through May 2024
