Pet Blessing

All creatures great and small are invited to be blessed in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi Day. Please feel free to bring your beloved pet between 10:00 - 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4 and Rev. Chuck will meet you here at the church on the front steps located on Mason Avenue where he will offer each pet an individual blessing. Yes, all pets are welcome: dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, indeed, all creatures great and small! The practice of blessing pets on the first weekend in October dates back 800 years to St. Francis of Assisi, who is well-known as the patron saint of animals and the environment.
